The strap seems to be real leather. Nice leather too. I've had track belts from other sources and the "leather" strap chipped along the edges and revealed it was something other than real leather. Time will tell.

This was my third belt I have ordered from Slidebelts. For whatever reason the buckle did not work properly; I reached out to the customer service division who immediately sent me the replacement buckle which works fabulously.
