Happy People

Hey Team,

I was searching for some inspiration today and came across this quote. The last part really hits home because it describes our workplace so well. I am always impressed by how genuine you all are. It's definitely one of the keys to our success. Thank you for that!

Living in The Moment

My hubby and I were watching Dragon Ball Z (yes, we’re still children) and this particular episode was about time travel. During the episode I started thinking, “if I could have a sneak peak, would I look into my future?” The quick answer is “umm, yes!!!!!!” but the more I think about it, the more I lean toward the opposite direction. The best part about life is experiencing it, LIVING it.

I always overthink things and daydream about my future but I’m going to try to stop doing that so I can live in the moment and enjoy the little things. I like life’s little surprises (the big ones, not so much) because they give me opportunities to grow and to come up with ways on how to overcome the obstacles.

“Today is life–the only life you are sure of. Make the most of today. Get interested in something. Shake yourself awake. Develop a hobby. Let the winds of enthusiasm sweep through you. Live today with gusto.” – Dale Carnegie

The Struggle

One day a small gap appeared in the cocoon, through which the butterfly had to appear. A boy, who accidentally passed by, stopped and watched how the butterfly was trying to get out of the cocoon. Even after several hours of struggle, there was no progress. It seemed that the butterfly had tried its best and could not give any more try.
The boy decided to help the butterfly. He took a penknife and cut the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings.
The boy continued to watch the butterfly, and was quite eager to see it fly with its beautiful wings. Unfortunately that moment would never arrive. In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings.
What this boy did not understand was that the butterfly was suppose to struggle. In fact, the continuous effort from the butterfly to come out of its cocoon would let the fluid stored in the body be converted into wings. The body would become lighter and smaller, and the wings would be beautiful and large. Without the struggle, the butterfly would never, ever fly.
Life gives us challenges and obstacles so we can face them, not so we can avoid them or go around them. Even though it might not be the easiest way out, we are only hurting ourselves when we avoid struggles. Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life if we want to succeed, so embrace them with pride! The amazing thing about SlideBelts, its that here you will never face them alone. Happy Friday team!
