If you know me at all you know that I am always busy or doing something with my time. Well, the same goes for Ashley. We both have such an active lifestyle and were tired of going out on the weekends and spending a bunch of money to try and wow someone you may never see again. Along came Tinder, yes tinder the dating app. I was actually sitting in the breakroom at SlideBelts HQ on my lunch break at the time (4818 location) and happened to find a match while scrolling. Little did I know I would fall head over heels for that girl I matched with. She was so professional and mature and different from other girls I have dated. I knew right away she was something special. Fast forward a little over 3 years later now living together for 2 years and even expanded our little family with adding Darla (our dog). Only one thing left to do now...... :) Update... She said yes!
Hey everyone! So, yes, this is going to be a bit cheesy and also a fairly funny story about how my parents met. They have just recently celebrated over 30 years of marriage, and continue to be each other's partner in crime. Interestingly, but not so interestingly, they met at a party! Of course, this was a "set up" type of date, in which the two young adults knew "of" one another but neither knew much on a personal level, nor had they discovered yet what the other looked like. While my dad did know my mother's name, he did not know much else besides the fact that she was Chinese. While the party continued on, and my mother waited patiently for my father to approach, my father found himself in a bit of a situation. While he did note the presence of my mother, he also noted the presence of another Chinese woman with similar features and stature. So instead of asking someone who was who, he decided not to talk to either one of them the whole night! This was out of both foolishness and fear.
You might be asking yourself, so just how did my father end up with my mother in the end? Well, it took some time and a very long apologetic phone call to clear up the issue. My father managed to track down my mother's number and fortunately, she picked up. He explained his utter confusion and apologized for the rudeness. They ended up talking for hours surprisingly! Next came their first official date and the rest, well you should know, is history...
Once upon a time…haha just kidding! ;) Nathaniel (my husband) and I first met in Spanish class when we were Sophomores in high school. When we had to practice saying “where are you from” in Spanish, we discovered that we were both born in Nebraska and we instantly clicked. Now, if my husband tells you this story he will tell you that he knew from that one Spanish class that he wanted to be with me. But of course he waited until about 8 years later to tell me that throughout our whole friendship, he had feelings for me the whole time! When he did tell me, we decided it was worth the risk of possibly jeopardizing our amazing friendship to date...and it was the best decision I ever made! 3 years later, we got married on April 1, 2017 and I became a Befus :) He is my better half and is always so supportive of everything I do! I definitely wouldn’t be the person I am today without him…and they lived happily ever after!
