Wednesday Workout.

Today, I wanted to help wake everyone up on this beautiful mid week morning with a little workout.  I know how much SlideBelts Crusaders like to workout, but today’s workout isn’t going to be like most of ya’lls daily routines.  Ready for today’s workout?

The “muscle” we will be focusing in on today is...Your brain.  That’s right let us solve some quick brain teasers to help condition and strengthen our greatest “muscle” of all.  Just like muscles in our body, the more you use them, the stronger they get. The same applies to your brain: Give your brain a ten-minute workout once a day and when it comes to applying your cognitive skills in everyday situations, you will find your brain is able to respond quicker and process information more accurately.

NOW GO GET THEM BRAIN GAINS!

  1. A seven letter word which has hundreds of letters in it?
  2. A barrel of water weighs 50 pounds. What must you add to it to make it weigh 35 pounds?
  3. A farmer has 17 sheep, all but 9 die. How many are left?
  4. I am a six letter word.  Subtract one letter and twelve will remain. What is the Word?
  5. What four words appear on every denomination of U. S. coins?
  6. How many 9's are in the range of numbers from 1 to 100?
  7. Some months have 30 days, some months have 31 days. How many have 28?

(Answer all seven for a kudos)

Future Ambassadors

This past week I had the good fortune to attend an event for the PGA Ambassador program. It was a great reminder of just how great our product is. We supply belts to these PGA Professionals for these trips, but this is the first time I've been able to be there while they used them. Without exception, the players absolutely loved the belts and couldn't stop raving about them. They loved the comfort, the way they looked and for an athlete, the way it tightens up to exactly where they wanted it to.

As we enter this busy season it will be easy to get caught up in the frenzy of the moment, but we can't ever forget just how cool and really revolutionary our product is to so many people and that each belt that goes out the door is going to a future ambassador for us.

Recent feedback from a trip:

Dear Marc,
I can’t thank you enough for sending me your SlideBelts!! I think these belts are awesome!! I love the women’s belt and my husband is excited about the men’s belt. The leather is quality leather and I love how easy they are to get off and on.

Thank you for supporting the PGA Ambassador program, our trip was really nice!  It was my first time to Scotland and I am already planning a trip back!!

Thank you so much,
Susie Meyers PGA

Reputation

Reputations are important, both personally and professionally. First impressions are crucial, the promises you make matter and the expectations people have of you are important. For as true as that is individually, it's equally as true for a brand or business.
We know that it's crucial for our product to be fantastic, because that is the basis of what we do. But reputation goes far beyond the products we sell because reputation is often built and spread by the good word of the customers we serve.
Our reputation lies in the customer service calls and the no-hassle exchanges, in paying our bills on time and avoiding gimmicky marketing, in our honest, straight-forward approach with new job candidates and the relationships we have with our partners and manufacturers abroad. For those reasons, the customer who gets a belt that slips is much more likely to give us a second (or third) chance because of the reputation we've built outside of our products.
Seth Godin gives 3 important reminders for reputation:
  1. Your reputation has as much impact on your life as what you actually do.
  2. Early assumptions about you are sticky and are difficult to change.
  3. The single best way to maintain your reputation is to do things you're proud of. Gaming goes only so far.

The best thing about reputation is that since ours is already great, all we have to do is keep doing what's gotten us to this point: be who we are, which is knowledgeable and kind, authentic and helpful.

"Be your reputation, early and often, and you're more likely to have a reputation you're glad to own."
