It has been a while since I have written one of these so bare with me a little bit. Any of you who have talked with me for any extended length of time probably know that I am a big fan of "nerd culture" and about 5 or 6 years ago my wife and I had the pleasure of going to the largest "nerd" event of the year.
It is one of my favorite summer memories of all time. That being said, even getting tickets is no easy task (I have tried every year since and failed). We drove and that took forever, even driving through LA sucks.
Once you get there, it is packed and way bigger than you think it will be. There is a ton to see and do. Seeing people who you know from every show and movie you like is pretty cool, but my favorite memory is definitely walking through the artists booth and walking past a little 10x10 booth dedicated to a relatively obscure Alice in wonderland comic. It was small and unassuming, we almost walked right past it until Sarah caught it at the last minute. The thing about this comic is that it is one of Sarahs absolute favorite series. When we stopped to talk to the guy manning the booth we realized almost immediately that it was the artist and creator for the series. The whole interaction was really cool, he was really nice, we bought a bunch of stuff and he signed all of it. Overall it was an amazing experience and if you enjoy movies, comic books, video games or television, I could not recommend going enough.
