Batten Down the Hatches! Tue, Mar 20, 2018

Most people batten down the hatches when they hear a storm is coming, this isn't exactly true when you're a surfer, skier, (or snowboarder in my case) who relies on storms to provide some of the best riding conditions. This recent storm pounded the Tahoe area with roughly 2-3 feet of powder in a matter of a few days, making for some prime-time riding conditions (as you can tell below, I was stoked). This storm brought some amazing riding, but at the same time storms like this bring a lot of trouble along with it. The two major highways that run through the Tahoe area were both shut down multiple times, there were multiple vehicle accidents, and a lot of money is spent on snow removal. Regardless, nature does what it wants and us humans have no way of stopping it, so why not enjoy it while we can!
