During my second year in college I took an Intro to Philosophy course which made me fall in love with learning. Ever since then I have made it a goal for myself to always keep learning either a new skill or a new subject. I really enjoy my work because of this, at work I’m always trying to learn about new strategies that will give us an advantage. At home I’m currently learning how to bake bread and Pizza dough from scratch, so if you were curious as to why I eat pizza 4 times a week, this is why. I must admit that just because I try to learn a new skill doesn’t mean that I’m always successful, like the time where I tried learning how to draw/paint or the time I tried learning the piano (this is on hold). What I have discovered from all this is just because we stop going to school doesn’t mean we should stop learning and growing as a person.
Well I’m sad to say it but the cold season is here and is in full swing. I know a few of us here at SlideBelts have been battling it so I thought I’d share a few tips on how to avoid getting sick this cold season. 1. Seems obvious but avoid contact with people with a cold, especially during the first 2-3 days that symptoms appear. 2. Frequently wash your hands, so maybe keep the high fives to a minimum if you’re not feeling so well. 3. Keep your fingers away from your eyes and nose to avoid spreading germs. It seems like a simple thing to do, but a single gram of bacteria can contain 1 trillion germs. 4. Get your flu shot. I actually don’t do this myself but hey, it’s worth a shot. (pun intended) 5. Support your immune system! Drinking plenty of fluids and eat a balanced diet to maintain your health. Tip: Get the Orange C Booster from Jamba Juice if you’re looking for a yummy treat filled with vitamins to prevent catching that cold. I got one last week when I felt my cold coming on and it was amazing! Hope this helps!
Hiiii everyone. I've been trying to wake up early and create a solid morning routine for myself. I am here to inform you that it is not as simple as one may think! In a recent Forbes article, author Ken Brokaw wrote that he is the most productive as soon as he wakes up. Brokaw also states, "Creating a morning routine for yourself is essential to a successful life. Waking up earlier than usual will give you ample time to focus on your goals and conquer the day with more energy, mindfulness and strength.".
Here are some tips I've picked up in the past couple weeks to help me get closer to what I think will be the most productive and sweet morning routine for myself:
