Migraine Relief Tips

Through morning kitchen conversations I've discovered several crusaders who deal with migraines. Migraines tend to be hereditary and having dealt with them since my teenage years, I know how frustrating and painful this experience can be. Thus, I wanted to provide some tips on how to possibly circumvent a migraine.

Preventative measures:

- Get adequate sleep
- Eat wisely
- Stay hydrated
- Exercise regularly
- Manage stress

After the onset of a migraine:

- Find a calm environment
- Meditate
- Search for migraine relief playlists on Spotify or YouTube
- Massage your temples
- Apply hot or cold compress to your head or neck
- Drink a caffeinated beverage

Lastly, as a reminder, if you find yourself in need of pain medication please do not hesitate to visit us in The Vault for ibuprofen or Excedrin.

Wind Powered “Creatures”

There are creatures on the beaches of Holland that don’t need to sleep or eat to survive. These creatures are kinetic sculptures made of PVC pipes and powered by the wind. They are built by Theo Jansen, a Dutch artist who has dedicated over 20 years of his life to creating these “living” sculptures which he calls “strandbeest”. In the beginning Theo would have to pull the sculptures to get them moving, eventually he added propellers and sails so that they could move by themselves. Jansen dream is to one day have a herd of these majestic sculpture roam free on the beaches. If you want to see more of his sculptures check out this video

Hello Fall!

Fall is finally here which only means one thing, the holidays are right around the corner! (Which is hard to believe seeing as it’s still 90 degrees here in Sacramento) haha. But the holidays are the busiest time of the year for SlideBelts, especially for the creative team since we have plenty of marketing materials to design. This week the creative team is getting ready for the holidays by having a photoshoot in Tahoe! We will be in a cozy cabin while we take pictures of our models sitting by the fire, sippin’ on hot cocoa and roasting marshmallows. I know this will definitely get me in the spirit for the holidays! I’ll make sure to give y’all an update and a behind the scenes sneak peak of the photoshoot next week!
