The back of every leather, vegan, or canvas SlideBelt has markings to indicate where to cut for one’s waist size.
Determine your waist size and add two inches. Since sizing varies across brands, we recommend cutting the strap two sizes larger than your waist size, and then reducing the length as necessary.
Using a good, sturdy pair of scissors, cut the strap at the size previously determined.
Attach the buckle by clamping the trap door down on the cut end of the strap. The teeth on trap door will secure the buckle to the strap.
Try on your SlideBelt. If it is still too long for your liking, detach the buckle from the strap and cut again. Repeat until your SlideBelt hugs your waist just like you want.
If you are having difficulty detaching the buckle from the unfinished, cut end of the strap, try using a dull object to pry open the trap door. Or grab one of our nifty Buckle Removal Tools!

I bought my belt on a whim. I am a teacher and a volleyball coach and our school colors are orange and black; the orange belt was on sale so I thought "what the heck!" On most game days, I teach a full day and then go straight to the match which is often a 12 hour (or more) day. Traditional belts stretch throughout the day and by game time feel like they aren't quite doing their job. With my ratchet belt, I am able to tighten it up just enough so I feel like it is snug yet not too tight. Warming up the team before a match requires a lot of bending, stretching and movement but now I don't worry that my pants or shorts are sliding down to my hips when I am active. I couldn't be happier with my purchase, and this won't be the only ratchet belt hanging in my closet.
