The back of every leather, vegan, or canvas SlideBelt has markings to indicate where to cut for one’s waist size.
Determine your waist size and add two inches. Since sizing varies across brands, we recommend cutting the strap two sizes larger than your waist size, and then reducing the length as necessary.
Using a good, sturdy pair of scissors, cut the strap at the size previously determined.
Attach the buckle by clamping the trap door down on the cut end of the strap. The teeth on trap door will secure the buckle to the strap.
Try on your SlideBelt. If it is still too long for your liking, detach the buckle from the strap and cut again. Repeat until your SlideBelt hugs your waist just like you want.
If you are having difficulty detaching the buckle from the unfinished, cut end of the strap, try using a dull object to pry open the trap door. Or grab one of our nifty Buckle Removal Tools!

I guess it should be implied and I should have assumed that the belt would create a ratcheting noise when it was being adjusted. I was put off when I first received the belt because the noise from the ratcheting was pretty loud... but now, it's just kind of humorous although I've adapted and just lift the belt receiver so it doesn't echo in the restrooms when I tighten my belt. I went back to the site to see if I had just overlooked it or didn't notice the sound in the video but there was really no mention of it. Oh well. It just would have been nice to know. Other than that the quality is superb, although since there are more parts to the buckle it does tend to pull down my work slacks since they are not a stiffer material like jeans. I know this seems like many criticisms, but they are just things to think about. I would, regardless, recommend this to anybody looking for new belt.
This is my second belt, I loved the first enough to get a second one, and it may even be better than the first. It is so much better to be able to adjust to exactly where it needs to be regardless of how much I have eaten, or not. And I have had no problem with a hole stretching out and making a belt useless. Am completely sold on these belts.
i cannot believe that someone was finally able to create a better mouse trap. As a man in his 40's now. My waist line can fluctuate pretty heavy from one day to the next. For years i've been adding extra holes all over the belt. It helped, but still it had never felt my pants fit just right. And then i see an add for slideblelts. So i bought two. Because there is no difference in returning 2 belts than it is one. If i didn't like them that is. But from the first click. I knew i had something totally different here. Since the second i put it on i probably adjust 5-6 times a day. and its so quick and easy. Thank you so much for making an amazing product. PS: I'm right on the fence of buying the new 2.0 survival belt. So my slide belt collection may increase in the future! ;)
